Cotswold Community Working Notes
The Cotswold Community had continuous consultant support from the Tavistock Institute from 1968 until 2000.
The first consultant was Ken Rice, followed by Isabel Menzies-Lyth, followed by Eric Miller.
I am in the process of making available all the Working Notes that I have access to.
To view any of the notes, click on the links below – each Working Note will open in a new window as a PDF document.
Working Note One | A. K. Rice, M.A., SC.D. | February 1968
Working Note No. 1 was the first working model for the Cotswold Community.
It was not fully put into practice because it became apparent that the majority of boys would be emotionally unintegrated.
The assumption underpinning the Working Note was that the majority would be “integrated”.
Nevertheless, this Working Note continued to inspire us and demonstrated how the concepts, which are defined in the Appendix, could be used in practice.
